Thee Cree Legacee: Buns in the Oven
Posted by okines on August 12, 2007

My dogs really have control of my house. I think they think they own me! I’m such a sucker for discipline. I’ll let them get away with most things and when I come home from work the ‘house’ is a mess. But at least Bernie watches over his girlfriend while she sleeps. Oh, did you notice they are on my new bed. It’s so comfy and I’m finally getting a good nights sleep.

Oh and guess who decided to give a surprise visit? Yep, Garland Gardner. He caught me in my pyjamas. How emabressing! But what he had to say was interesting. “Jael, I had a strange gypsy lady visit me a long time ago. And she described my soul mate to me. I’ve been searching eveywhere for her but no one matched her description. But when I saw you walking the dog the other day, I knew straight away it was you. And now I know what they mean by love at first site. I just… I just hope you feel the same way about me.”

So I just pulled him close and showed him exactly how I felt. Over the next few weeks he continued to visit and our bond grew closer. Eventually I worked up the guts to ask him to move into my cottage with me and I was so happy when he said yes! So now Garland lives with me, Bernie and Tiffany We’ll have to expand the cottage soon…

Turns out Garland hadn’t been telling me he was stashed! He bought so much money to our household but that didn’t change anything between us. He said he loved the humble life and the way I lived was attractive to him. We hired some builders and slowly started adding more rooms to the house.
One night he turned to me and gently woke me up. “I love you Jael.” he always said this so it wasn’t unusual.
“I love you too.” I replied. “Now can I go back to sleep?”
“But I really love you!” he emphasized. “I want to marry you! Tomorrow!” by now he had a huge grin on his face. I wrapped my arms around his neck and embraced him.
“About time! I’ve been waiting to hear the ‘m’ word from you for ages.” I laughed. “I have a surprise for you too.”
“Oh really?” he replied. “It has to be good to beat my announcement.”
“How about if I said… I’m pregnant!” I smiled at him. The look on his his face was of pure shock and happiness. We both went back to sleep content that night. Things were going well for us.

The wedding was beautiful, and so was my dress! Hehe. We held our wedding in our yard. It was private but don’t worry, it was legal. We said our vows under the moonlight and it was just pure bliss.

It wasn’t long before our honeymoon evening was over. My body quickly reminded me that I was carrying a baby. Morning sickness must be one of the worst things of pregnancy. Yuck! I was lucky it didn’t go all over my dress.

Pregnancy isn’t easy. But at least I was fulfilling my mothers death wish by carrying on the Cree family name. I think Bernie knew that the baby was coming because he was acting up. Especially at bath time which was really annoying and it wasn’t like him at all. I also had a cold at the time. NOT. FUN. Give a pregnant woman a break!

It was all worth it though. A few months and a trip to the hospital resulted in a beautiful baby boy. We named him Obadiah. The name is…different but my mother always liked that name and it grew on me. He had Garland’s dark skin and my violet eyes.

We added a cot to our bedroom so we would be near him when we were sleeping. Garland and I decided that I would become a stay at home wife. He said his job was earning enough to support us. Although he never said what his job involved. I have never really thought to ask.
Garland seemed a bit overwhelmed with Obadiah’s arrival. As if it was like “I made… this? What have I got myself into!?”

Having a baby was not all fun and games. After a while you get use to the poo, feeding, screaming and power chucks. The power chucks were the worst. Nothing like baby spew for breakfast.

But Obadiah grew into the most gorgeous toddler with beautiful brown hair like his father. But he did have my nose. That’s a good thing, trust me! He also had the same worried expression that people tell me I have. And little did Garland know that I had another bun in the oven! Yep, another kid on the way means more diapers, bottles and spew. Oh joy. It was definitely going to be our last. Two is my limit!

I got all teary when Obadiah said ‘Mum’ for his first word. He had no idea what I was teary about and he just sat there giving me weird looks as if I was the idiot. Maybe he was just mad that I made him wear cute pink pyjamas. I’m definitely keeping those for his 21st. Aren’t I an evil mother.

Our house is getting fuller and fuller all the time. It seems like there is a new addition everyday. But that’s impossible… right? The point is that Tiffany had puppies!! It was such a total surprise for all of us. I walked into the lounge room and Obadiah was pointing at Tiffany (who I thought she was sleeping) and said “Mum Mum.. pup pup!” On closer inspection I saw that she had two little white pups curled up with her. One boy and one girl. I let Garland name the boy and he called him Beaver. I named the girl Suki. Aren’t they just sooo cute.

Oh and Garland found out I was pregnant soon enough because when I’m pregnant I go out of order and when I go out of order the house goes out of order. Noticed the unwashed bowls and flies? Don’t worry, although Garland looks like he has no idea what to do (what a hopeless husband), he was sweet enough to pick me up and carry me to our bed. That’s when he noticed my baby bump. Once again he was overjoyed but he agreed that two was the limit for us.

My precious dog Bernie was beginning to show his age. It was sad to think he would soon leave us. But his age didn’t slow him down. He was still the most famous dog in Okines Village. He even had his own limozine! And NO I’m not jealous of my own dog… not much anyway.

Oh and his puppies grew SO fast! One day they’re puppies and the next day they are big bulky dogs. They are pretty good looking dogs but no dog will ever match my adorable Bernie. I’d love to keep both of them but Garland said “No way am I have four dogs and two kids running around the house! We have to give one away.” That means I could only keep one for my breeding program (yes I am now a registered breeder! Yay). Talk about a heart breaker. I had no idea who to choose…Suki or Beaver?

I want your opinions on which dog I should choose. I have no idea. Should I keep Suki (on the left) or Beaver (on the right). Or should I keep one and get Tiffany to try for another bunch of puppies incase there is a better pup in that batch? ‘Cause I was really hoping for a long haired dog for the Family Breed.
By the way, I’m not taking this Legacy too seriously. It’s more like a practice, just to see if I can reach 10 generations without going insane. I will be trying to have them all die with platinum graves (so I doubt I’ll get each colored ghost). I’m especially focusing on the Family Breed category. Bernie has learned all commands so theres another fraction of a point. And I’ll be doing the portrait of Jael for another point. In the Collection category I’ll be trying to get points for alien pregnancies, platinum graves, hopefully I’ll get the career reward objects, I may possibly try the 25 bottles of elixir, and I’m gonna get a ‘black sheep’.
Oh and I was able to extend the house pretty quickly because Garland bought in $12,000 with him! That was a surprise! And then he went on to win $10,000 in a chance card. Bernie also recieved $10,000 in chance card. So I was doing pretty good with that money.

Oh and here are some interesting pics I took. ![]()
It seems that Tiffany couldn’t get enough of eating snow.. so she carried it with her everywhere while it flowed out of her.. mouth? What the hell?

“I wonder if this will turn Bernie on.”
Oh and the second I moved Garland in he decides he’ll start a fire. He’s a chef but he still manages to set the cottage on fire! Grrr. He covered the evidence after he had put out the fire and Jael had no idea because she was at work.

“Oh SNAP! Shhhh don’t tell Jael. This is our little secret!”
This absolutely cracked me up. I was enjoying their wedding it was all romantic and stuff. But straight after they exchanged rings and kissed Garland pulls out a water balloon and hits Jael right in the face!

“This is how much I love you dear!”
Oh and does anyone want to adopt a levitating baby?

“Behold my power pathetic little pup!”

I always have so much trouble deciding what pets to keep for my legacies, I just love them all too much! What are their personalities like? You could keep the dog with the better personalty and then try again for a long hair maybe? Good job so far, I’ll be looking forward to updates!

Thanks Maireaine.
There personalities are exactly the same. Although neither are geniuses which is what I’m hoping for. I’m thinking I’ll keep Suki and try again.

I really like the water balloon picture! What a way to greet your bride… “you may now ruin the bride’s dress!”
As for the dogs, if you want long-haired, keep trying. Otherwise got for Suki!
