Thee Cree Legacee: New Beginnings

Posted by okines on August 11, 2007

Ok so you’re probably wondering what the hell is this lady doing in the middle of nowhere with a fridge, bed, a very exposed dunny and a dog!? Well trust me, that lady is wondering the very same thing!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jael Cree and I’m poor. Oh so very poor. Do you have any spare change? Despite what my appearance may tell you, I come from a very long line of proud Scottish folk. I was my mother’s only child and my father died when I was young. Now I had no plans to have kids but my mother’s death wish has changed that. As she was dieing I never left her bedside. She told me “I have nothing to pass on to you except $20,000. You are my only child and I pray with this money you will find your way and raise a family to continue the Cree name. Oh and can you look after Bernie for me?” Mother died a few days later and that’s basically how I ended up here. With the$20,000 I could only afford to buy land and a few essentials. I moved to a new suburb development called Okines Village. I was one of the first citizens and I picked a plot of land right next to the water. It was a tad expensive but I think it will be worth it!

By the way, this is Bernie. I guess he’s my dog now. He use to belong to my mum. Luckily I love animals and I’m sure he’ll be a great dog. He’s very smart but also very energetic!

Anyways, back to the present! It wasn’t long after I moved in that I had my first visitor. He was pretty handsome actually. He said his name was Amando Cox and he was representing the local garden club.

“What garden club? I didn’t think Okines Village was big enough for one?” I asked him.
“Oh most of us live on the other side of the suburb. We are only a very small club.” he answered. “Not many people live on this side ok Okines Village because it is too expensive.”

Talk about getting a big head. I was feeling pretty ‘God Almighty’ right about now. I had the most expensive block in the village! Unfortunately I didn’t have a house to match. Anyways, Amando and I continued chatting for a while but then he had to leave for an ‘urgent garden crisis’. What the? Since when can gardens have emergencies. I was really thinking a garden would be a good idea, especially if it lured Amando back. I could pretend to have a ‘garden crisis’ and he would be on my doorstep in no time! But then I realized to build a garden I needed money and to get money I needed a job. I really needed that money to build Bernie and I some shelter before winter kicked in.
So I picked up the paper that had been dropped off and began my search for the ultimate job. I was a bit disappointed when all I could get was a job as a File Clerk. Some good news was that I got Bernie a job as an extra for a kids program. Who knows? Maybe the mutt will become a star one day.

Oh, I had the weirdest visitor the other night! She was walking down the street calling my name. As I went to meet her she began talking to me. “I know you’re thoughts child. Amando is not the one for you. If you settle for him you are settling for second best.” I was gobsmacked! How did she know that I was falling for Amando? Was there really someone out there who was better for me? Or was this lady insane to the membrane? I was just about to ask her if she was crazy but she had disappeared just as quickly came.

What really surprised me was how many stray animals there were in Okines Village! This girl was always hanging around my property so I called her Tiffany. At first I think Bernie was annoyed that she was so welcome. He really made a fuss about sharing his squeaky toy. But now I’m thinking Bernie is starting to get a crush on her. If Tiffany visited more often I might just be forced to adopt her.

Luckily between Bernie and I we had enough money to build a small cottage before the first winter snow. Brrrr! It definitely wasn’t one of the prettiest houses in Okines Village but it was enough to satisfy me until I had money to expand.

Tiffany kept returning and I grew to like her. So I decided to adopt her before the poor girl froze to death in the snow. She’s a great dog and Bernie and her are really getting along well. *hint hint*

I was getting sick of being cooped up in the cottage all day so I phoned a taxi and went down town. I really wanted to meet someone new. Plus my boss said he wouldn’t promote me unless I had ‘connections’. Basically he thinks I’m a social outcast. I wasn’t sure where I would go to at 3am in the morning so I thought I would take a shot at the bowling alley. And oh. my. goodness! When I walked in I nearly fell head over heels. There was this guy, and I dunno what it was about him but it made my heart skip a beat. I must of been staring at him because he noticed me and smiled. I quickly tuned away and blushed but I think he was coming towards me.

“Er hi there!” he called out. I paused and turned slowly. Was he talking to me. Yes he was, oh great what do I do? “Hi!” he repeated as approached me. “I’m Garland Gardner.” Oh great, another gardening guy. “I saw you walking your dog the other day. I was too busy to say hi then. But I just moved into Okines Village too.”
“Oh really?” I replied. “I haven’t seen you around before. My name is Jael by the way.” I was shocked that this guy was both friendly and cute. If I kept this up I may score a great guy. The words of the gypsy fortune teller rang through my head. “I know you’re thoughts child. Amando is not the one for you. If you settle for him you are settling for second best.”

We talked and hung out through the night. When morning came I knew I would be late for work unless I got home soon. But at the same time I never wanted to leave. Something about him made me feel nervous but giddy. I never feel this way. What was wrong with me? Am I sick? “Uh… it’s been… cool meeting you!” I said with a thumbs up. I’m such a dork.
“What? You’re leaving already?” he replied. I felt really guilty. “Can I at least have your number?”
“Of course.” I gave him a cheesy smile and quickly wrote down my number for him. “I really must go! I’ll talk to you soon Garland.” With that said, I left hastily before he could make me feel any worse about leaving him there.

Hey everyone! Ok this legacy is turning out to be pretty fun so far. Cree is actually a name from my own Scottish heritage. I thought it would be a cool name for this legacy. I was going to delete all the townie’s before I started this Legacy so that I would get fresh NPC’s but I forgot. So for all those who have done legacies tonnes of times before, sorry that you have to put up with familiar faces. By the way, does anyone know of some nice default eyebrows? The ones I downloaded from MTS2 came out all pixely and weird in the game.

Ooooh, that DownTownie makes pretty babies! Go Jael!

Good thing they were able to build a house before it snowed. :)

I love your skins! Btw, some good eyebrows are Serasims and Heleane’s defaults. You can get them here!

Thanks skyfirebaby but those are the ones I had downloaded and those are the ones that went all weird. But anyways, I tried them again and they seem to work better than before. :) Thanks!
